Welcome to the 9th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR 2025)

“SAR Technology and Applications for Sustainability”

5-9 October 2025, Matsue, Shimane, Japan

The Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR) is an international conference devoted to SAR technology development and applications and Co-Sponsored by Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), Japan and IEEE Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS).

The APSAR is a forum of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) engineers and scientists from all over the world, especially from the Asia-Pacific region. The bi-annual APSAR conference is held every two years in China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Singapore in turn, and The 9th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar was planned to be held in Matsue, Shimane, Japan.

Concept of APSAR 2025

Sponsors and Exhibitors are cordially invited to join us for APSAR 2025. This conference will be a great opportunity to promote your company/research institute as well as to meet researchers and industrial staffs in the field. APSAR has been one of the major SAR Symposiums, standing shoulder to shoulder with IEEE GRSS and AESS since 2008. In APSAR 2025, about 200 papers are expected to be

presented by SAR experts from all over the world, with about 300 participants expected at the exhibition.

There is growing concern about changes in the global environment, such as the frequent occurrence of abnormal weather events in various regions. The main causes of these changes are the various effects of our social activities. In particular, the SDGs and various other movements are taking place in the international community to review the activities of human society that are directly linked to

environmental changes, such as excessive emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases that cause global warming, the loss of vast forests due to development, and ocean pollution that is becoming increasingly serious. There is a wide range of capabilities required to minimize global environmental changes and realize a sustainable society. Join the conference to discuss SAR.
